A graffiti competition was held on the occasion of the 196th birthday of Pabna district. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Pabna district convener Habibur Rahman Habib inaugurated the competition at Shilpakala Academy at 10:30 am yesterday. District BNP general secretary Advocate Masudur Rahman Masud Khandaker, senior joint convener Anisul Haque Babu, joint convener Nur Mohammad Masum Baga, Dr Ahmed Mostafa Noman, district Jubo Dal former president Mosabbir Hossain Sanju and convener Ilias Ahmed Himel Rana and others spoke at the occasion.
At the beginning of the ceremony, one minute silence was observed in memory of all the martyrs killed in the mass uprising against the fascist government. Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) Pabna district unit convener Khaled Hossain Parag presided over the function while member secretary Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan moderated it. Khaled Hossain Parag, convener of JASAS Pabna district unit, said students from different educational institutions participated in three sections of the graffiti competition. Prizes will be distributed among the participants including three winners of the three categories at the birthday celebration of Pabna district on October 16.
